Raleigh, North Carolina                             January, 2015

Welcome to the DogGoneFast Winter WufFest XIV!

Thank you for your entries; we have 50 teams and we will have 2 rings.  Please check the other links on our web site for seed chart, racing schedule, detailed directions/maps. Please note that we will not have a food vendor at our event this year. There are fast food locations within a reasonable drive and we will provide maps at the Maitre-D table. The fairgrounds is a busy location so please keep a watchful eye on your possessions, be observant of the crating areas, and let me know if you see any issues.

We have managed to provide each team with 39-40 heats (32 for Veterans).   We are doing the “One Schedule for 2 Rings” format. We have volunteers from the NC State pre-Vet Club working as box and line judges this weekend. Please take a moment to thank them for working so hard.  We have trophies for 1st, and ribbons for 2nd and 3rd placements, welcome bags, and a super raffle.

Racing Format

The Racing Format is described on the seed chart. Warm-ups will be 120 seconds on both days.  Warm-up time may be reduced if necessary. The two rings will be separated by a barricade.  Please use the assigned doors for entering and exiting your ring and do not cross behind the barricade while teams are racing.

Geoff and Mike have graciously offered to coordinate as Maitre-D and will be providing ring assignments. We will be using Andy's flyball geek website to provide online access to ring assignments. Dave Thomas has graciously agreed to set up his pass-call cameras again, we are so lucky! Thanks to Jeremy for helping with the necessary WiFi setup to make it all work so well.

Judges and Acting RD

Our judges will be Jim Spitznas, Jon Bescher, Kyle Mankes and Geoff Brown. Assistance may be provided by Dirk Elber and Amy Brubaker. Please thank our judges!

Linda Damiano from Pawmetto Pack will be the acting RD for the flyball weekend. Thank you!

Venue Information

The Holshouser building will be open until 8pm on Friday night; you may drop off your flyball boxes if you wish.  There is no room for team crating in the racing building, exceptions have been given for judges, for folks that have special needs and for particularly old or young dogs. Please email me if you need an exception.
Please note that there is no reserved parking at the Holshouser Building. Parking is first come-first served.

Friday night and Saturday night racing

We are holding Single Dog Racing on Friday night again!  Races are best 5 of 5 for $5 with all proceeds going to a local charity. You may run against someone or unopposed. If your dog is not quite ready for racing, you can request 5 minutes for $5. This fundraiser is important to us, so please come out and support it! We have received permission to use the NAFA EJS during the Single Dog Racing and we will be writing down the dog’s racing times. We expect to start the SDR by 6pm.
On Saturday night, we plan to allow SDR for dogs that are NOT listed on a C2 form. We will start this as soon as both rings are finished racing and the EJS has been pulled out of the rings. You can see Amanda to sign up for this after 2pm on Saturday.
